Safety Cap Question
#1

I know you should always use Safety caps when replacing certain Philco blocks that cross the AC line.

My question is in regard to how specific do you have to be for values. The radio I have requires two .015 mfd caps in the bakelite block I need to replace. I have some .01’s and some .02’s . Can I use either of these in place of the .015’s.

Justradios require a minimum order plus shipping and I really don’t need any other parts at this time.

The .01’s and .02’s I’m hoping to use in place of the .015’s are safety caps. I should have mentioned that in my post.

Hello Phil27,
Either one would work just fine but .01ufd is what is normally used !

Thanks Richard.

I would use the .02 uf safety caps if you have them, it's better to go a little higher in value then too low. I'm surprised that you can't get .015 uf from Mouser or Digikey, though I do not think it'd critical.

Arran
