Anyone able to identify this radio?
#1

I have this radio kicking around but the label is missing.  It has a PT-25 chassis in it.  Anyone know the model number?

It's very close to, and seems to share a cabinet with, the Philco Transitone TH-14.

It's kinda halfway between a TH-14 and a PH-25. Maybe it's an "RH-19.5".  That's a halfway kinda number, haha.  Icon_biggrin

I have the exact same case except mine has a pt-27 in it. I was never able to find out any other info.

I looked up the TH-14, it looks almost identical except the handle and dial. I thoroughly looked the case on myne over and there is no holes for a handle. I did find a PT-31 looks like myne but I cant find much let alone a year. I'm estimating 39-42 maybe? Myne is all original except the firecracker, and I used it every day. I have an appointment in June to have it gone through and rewired. I love listening to old black and white radio on it every night. Amazing that broadcast still come through loud and clear 80 years later, the local station is so loud I can easily listen with the volume all the way down.

That series of chassis were used in a number of cabinets, there was even a battery version (at least on the Canadian market) same layout but no rectifier tube socket. I have two of the battery versions downstairs, in wood cabinets, and an AC/DC in Bakelite cabinet, the batter sets do not have Transitone market on the dial. Mixing an matching does not surprise me as swapping one chassis into another was basically bolt in.

Arran

Renovated Radios do carry what you need. As for the voltage, a wire should be at least 300V-rated.morzh — 11:13 PM
