38-10 antenna coil
#1

Hi,
I have an 38-10 bullet radio  code 121 with a range 1 antenna coil that reads way high. pn 32-2557. Does any one have a spare or instructions on how to wound one?

Hi,
I tried a re-solder but had not success.  I removed the coil and then could see the break. Fortunately it is in the simple 4 winding coil on the bottom. I rewound it by hand and waxed it.

Hi and welcome to the Phorum,

The primary of the coil is not very critical in terms of the # of turns. It's just there to inductively couple the rf signal from your antenna to the 2ndry of the coil. Generally they are  don't have a lot of turns so not too hard to rewind. On the 1937 and 38 model they are hard to get at because of the design of the chassis. The 2ndry is as it is part of a tuned circuit comprised of it and the tuning capacitor.

To be more accurate that coil has two windings w/four leads.

GL w/ your project & Happy New Year!
