Bakelite block value in a 46-1201 turntable
#1

I'm working on a Philco Bing Crosby 46-1201 code 127 and there is a bakelite block under the turntable. It is a 3903-ODG. I've tried every resource I can find including the Philco library here but can't find the value of the two caps inside. Any help appreciated...Bill

Thank you...thats what I was looking for. Every place I looked left out the values.

That's from Ray Bintliff's Capacitors book. If you ever have a chance to buy it off of someone, do it.

I was lucky enough to be told that he was selling the last batch he had, shortly before he passed away in 2020, and I acted quickly.
I hope, as a dedicated radio man, he would not mind if someone made a good quality scan of the book and put it online to benefit all of us.

Ray would be thrilled though no longer among us he is helping the Hobby.

Good to know. If I ever run across that book I will get it. Every place I looked did not show the cap value. Some places I looked didn't even list that number of block. So, yes, even now his book is helping others.

Just ordered the book! Posting a link.   http://www.antiqueradio4.com/Merchant2/m..._Code=AUTO

If indeed it is in stock, this is the price that I paid.

I strongly recommend ordering them while they last.

I consider this is must have for Philco radio work and I have used mine many times.

In case anyone wonders about the man behind the book, Ray was the personification of the term "gentleman"'
He was our Club Membership Secretary for years, resident expert, wizard out of all things elusive in a chassis.

A truly great guy.

About a hour after ordering the book got a call from a gentleman concerning my order. There soft ware had no place for the 3 digit security code gave the gentleman the code and good to go. Had a nice talk about Ray. My copy will be shipped today book rate by the USPS. Take care and stay warm David

Went to the Post Office this morning and now have the book. Not sure when it arrived as I only check my mail once maybe twice a week. Think I will order some more of his books. Take Care David

The practical radio repair part 1 and 2 are good, cover a lot, some you may already know, but thorough.
