cool 20s Philco
#1

I saw this cool 20s Philco online awhile back, and I love it. The guy got cold feet about selling it, but I sure would have bought it Icon_smile
I think it is a 1929 model or so. Quite nice indeed.

Note from site admin: Sorry, but the photo which was attached to this post is no longer available.

Actually, it's from 1933. This appears to be the same cabinet as my 91D:

Only, the set in your photo appears to have had its doors removed. So maybe it's just as well that you did not get it.

The one in your photo is probably a 14D, 17D or 18D due to the wider spacing between the lower three knobs.

This 91D is a set I bought from someone in Louisville a couple months back, and I took the photo shortly after I brought it home. I still have not done anything with it. And, yes, the blue cloth will get replaced eventually with something more suitable.

Looks really nice Ron. Does it play?

No, it does not (yet). I brought it home...I put it in the kitchen to replace a 118D I recently sold...that's as far as I have gone with it. I'll get to it eventually. Icon_smile

Too bad about the "weekend warrior" finish on that 91D, I hate having to undo cruddy workmanship like that. Is it missing veneer above the control panel/doors, the other cabinet has some wavy grained veneer in that area?

Arran
