GE Model P-975F
#1

Picked this up about 10 years ago for cheap ($3.00). Kinda works the internal ant was broken fixed with super glue. When using the FM band if I touch the screw for hooking up a ground wire the radio volume increases and turning the dial can pick up stations up to 100 miles away. If I touch the screw for hooking up a EXT ant no change. Never seen this in a radio not much info on the net some of which is negative. Do not have a sch found one for $15 which is more than the value of the set. David

It looks like one of those Hong Kong specials, have you tried Electrotanya for service info? I may have something in one of my binder of transistor schematics but I will have to look.

There are 2 of these on ePay and several pics on Radiomuseum.  Although the front looks like a very popular Hong Kong radio sold under many different brands, based on the internal pics, the GE warranty sticker, the battery terminal and the texture of the PC board materials, it would be a good guess that this unit is made in the US with domestic and foreign parts.  There are companies that sell recap kits.  you may want to find one, scan their site for this radio P/N and determine if they have a schematic. If I find one, I will post.

Have looked at info on other sites. What is funny the wire that runs to the ext ant and ground connections are different colors some are white, black and red but both wires are the same color! Guess they used what ever was in stock for now it plays on FM, AM is weak. The Ecaps are marked on the + not the negative. Take Care David
