What to do with a Philco 640 chassis and speaker?
#1

Hi, I found this site when trying to find a home for a Philco 640 chassis and speaker I recovered from a ruined cabinet. It has an 80 rectifier, and a pair of 42's for outputs, plus 4 other tubes. From my very-meager understanding, this same chassis was used in the tombstone 640 (http://tinyurl.com/fuflo) as well as the floor model 640X (image here: http://tinyurl.com/kfxdp. Can anyone confirm or correct that?

Next, I'd like to post this item for sale for a reasonable price, but have no idea of value, and price is required for an ad here. Didn't see anything comparable on ebay. I don't imagine this is precious stuff, but it could interest someone for parts/restoration: the chassis looks pretty good, knobs are good, speaker cone looks intact, and I have the dial glass too. Tubes are all there, but I might hang on to the 42's for audio use. I can test on a Hickok 539C. Easiest from my point of view might be a swap for the kind of stuff I like for tube audio hi-fi DIY: old tube hi-fi units, tubes, chokes, etc.

I hope this isn't out of line on here -- if so I apologize and will correct.
