RCA WV-98c
#1

I have a wv98c and it looks like the meter is roached. Needle wont move. I applied a small voltage thru a pot and resistor and it wont move. Can the movement be taken apart?

Your power supply's ammeter is, obviously, coarse and might not see a small current.
Put an ammeter in series, and see if any current at all flows. If not, there is an open somewhere, possibly inside the meter.
Many old ones could be taken apart, but I am not familiar with this one. See if tehre are screws holding things together.

I balanced the movement. Micro surgery. Like working on a watch. While iam in the machine should i replace these brown caps?

Think yes.

To fix the movement properly you need to glue the magnet to the bracket. They used junkie glue from the factory.

So i put it back together, replaced the only electrolytic cap, the ohms feature works but on DC + volts, it pegs the meter to the right. Any thoughts?

Check the schematic.
And the idea is pretty simple: if you peg it to the right, you put too much current through it.
Work from there.

I will check out resistors R23, R27 and R28.
#9

I only see one R23 resistor. The schematic shows two.

Can you put PDF of the sch here, or the link to it?

Are there any paper capacitors, or only disc ceramic ones?

Disc and polys.

Can you highlight the circuit that is set by switches and leads when it measures DC volts?

Thats the hard part and what i need. .5 thru 15vdc i cant get the pot to zero the meter. Higher voltages are ok
