the worlds largest CRT Television,, not philco - KX45ED1

sorry this is  not philco so if its in the wrong location,, either way i believe for the sake of its historical significance, it be allowed to exist somewhere here.

enjoy this very amazing story of the worlds largest tv set that sold new for over 40,000$ us  !!! yup.
also enjoy the purpose behind why!!!
apparently there is a very unique cult following in the modern day gaming community to run games on tube TV to take adantage of what gamers call "lag" in that their reaction time to executing a button push is quicker than the competiition using pure digital tech.   These kind of forks in the road of technology captures my attention and so i had to watch the full vid.  the general opion was that this model KX45ED1 ****DOES NOT EXIST**** and then one shows up.

For the sake of all that is good in the world of "good paybacks" and  "told ya so's"  please do not miss the very end of this wonderful vid.
Me personally,, it kinda tugged at my feels so to speak because it speaks to an era of true enovation and extreme engineering finally discovering the very end of CRT for nothing else other than the science and materials required finally met an impass.  we cant go bigger,, and if we did you would need a cherry picker at the least to move it.

enjoy,, feedback please  !!!

I have already reported this breaking news to SHANGO66 on youtube,, a brilliant radio & TV fixer guy,, cutting edge thinkers and Do'ers like most of you guys here i have gotten wonderful guidance and education in the past.

enjoy,, pop corn time for sure,, this one is a right click save as for sure.

I saw that on YouTube just this week! What an incredibly massive CRT, and what luck that it was discovered and saved.

i still have my Sony Trinitron TV. Didn't have the heart to toss it. My first new color TV. Bought it at Wiz. $200. In 1994, I think...Works perfectly.
It's just, it is analog....

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Michael, these Trinitrons are extremely durable picture tubes. They are record-breakers, I worked in a television repair shop for 25 years and was always impressed with the color quality of Sony Trinitron TVs, even when they were 20 years old.

And to think I threw away my 27" CRT 15 years ago. I left the monster on the curb. No one took it even though it was out there for days.

I still have three 20" CRT televisions, just because. I figured with time they may become collectible.

you will have to do the REDDIT leg work but..............
if you watch the vid you will see the channel or sub channel of that community that fights over access to CRT sets for gaming....
i am also interested in this because to be honest  i had no idea this event / technology merger was even happening.

if you are really into tv's,, shango66 on youtube is a good resource and appreciates them. although not as many years as most around crt's,, he is absolutly hats off hands down a good steward to this tech and he troubleshoots really well.

i learned more from him about how to technically handle the silver mica issues on IF transformers from him than even here. he has so many vids to handle the silver mica problem and each time he does it the same exact way and it proves out you can not just start with 50pf caps and get it right.. there is a real science to it. To be honest i am very amazed that there is very little documentation on silver mica from the OEM's and how to actually deal with it. perhaps silver mica problems took decades to happen and maybe they had no idea it would even be a thing.

anyway,,,
your comment kinda reminds me of the "mistake" versions of the Radio  ..  BAOFENG UV-5r,  that only a lucky few have in thier grubby paws.
id love to find one...........  it does things ,, hears things and stuff that us ordinary folk aint supposed to be able to do.
