Philco 60 Wave Trap
#1

Hello, Working on a Philco 60 run 7. It has a wave trap wired in series with the antenna. I understand a wave trap is not needed anymore so I was wondering if it could just be removed from the circuit? I will probably leave it in anyways. Just wondering?

I've left them out and tried the radio, left them and tried the radio. No difference. Having said that, I'm wont to leave them provided the coil is still good. I hope that was vague enough.

When you unsolder what has been soldered before the unsoldering, the unsoldering of the soldered is what will be.

Since the trap is tuned below the lower boundary (usually it is 460kHz), it should not matter as long as the coil conducts. Could be safely shorted out.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

I think I will experiment with it and see where the best performance is if there will be any difference.
