When I Google searched Y4 capacitor, this definition came up...
Y capacitor sub-classes. Y4 capacitors have a rated voltage under 150 volts of alternating current (VAC) Y3 capacitors have a rated voltage from 150 up to 250 VAC. Y2 capacitors have a rated voltage from 150 up to 500 VAC and basic insulation. Y1 capacitors have a rated voltage of up to 500 VAC and double insulation. If Y4 capacitor says 400V, it is probably because it is rated both Y4 and X1.
This will make it X-rated to, say, 400VAC, and Y-rated to, say, 125VAC. Like this one. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Vis...1TIQ%3D%3D People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Sorry, what is misleading? The specifications, the explanations given...other? Gary pretty much has explained the rating. People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Hello Martin ,
well the part from mouser is the one I keep in stock and use most often it also is small enough to fit in one the bakelite blocks too. Sincerely Richard
