philco model 16X

Need some general help/info for a floor console model 16x.
-- the set does not have any knobs - what kind of knobs did the orig
set have? was it the rosette style, or octagon style?
-- set has a small box mounted on the chassis shelf. it has 4 terminals
labeled ant, gnd, black, red. I looked at the schematic but cannot find
where they connect (switch on box controls sw/standard wave)
-- there is a toggle switch wired to the chassis that is mounted on the
side of the cabinet, but is not the on/off switch. what does this
control?

this looks like a very nice set -- thanks for any help with questions

The Model 16X (console) came in this style with rosette knobs:

The switch on the side is the QAVC on/off switch; see PHILCO SERVICE HINTS & TIPS - NUMBER 24
Model 16 and 17 Q-AVC Adjustment & Operation




The old antenna coupler screwed inside the console is from a Philco antenna system that used an outdoor dipole antenna with a balanced, twisted-pair lead in.
