Mystery Resistor
#1

I'm hoping someone can assist me in identifying this resistor...there is no dot so I don't think it follows the body-tip-dot format. This resistor came out of a 40-190 and according to Ron's resistor page, it says that in the early 40s they changed to the modern stripe numbering scheme. The only pages I've seen though indicate that a resistor that starts with a silver band is not a valid color scheme. It could be grey I suppose.

Resistor measures 150 ohms on a voltmeter, and there are no 150 ohm resistors anywhere close on the schematic.

Thanks,
Dave
#2

I think I figured it out...production changes indicate that in run 5 they added a resistor not shown on the diagram 33-115339 in series with the plates of the 6J8G tube (which was also a change that I see in my radio). Thanks to Ron's handy resistor translation page, this should be a 150 ohm resistor, 1/2 watt. It actually measured at 156 ohms, so pretty close to what it should be.

Dave
