48-482 volume control.
#1

My daily use player is a 48-482 that I recapped a few years ago. It now needs a new volume control. How do I add the 1m centertap to the 2m pot? Also should this be an audio taper or linear? This my first post. Thanks for allowing me to participate.

Thank you for joining, Roger. Icon_smile

Are you sure the old volume control is bad? DeoxIT D5 sometimes works wonders on old volume controls. Pricey, but worth the cost. You will probably have to order it online as it is not easily found in stores.

Thanks for your reply, Ron. I have Deoxit D5 in stock, but in this case, the shaft of the pot is actually loose and intermittant.

You may need to contact Mark Oppat, he will have a control you can use, with the proper tap for bass compensation.
