mod 46 1213 repair
#1

I am new to this so bear with me if I seem like I don't know what I am doing. I am working on repairing my grandmothers mod 46 1213 that her father bought for her new back in 1946 or 47. I am needing to replace the capaciter that connects the phonograph wit h the speaker but don't know what to replace it with as there are no markings. Also, I need to replace a couple of the winged light bulbs, but have no idea on those either. FInally, does anyone have a copy of the schematic they can post for me on how to rerun the radio knob wire?thanks in advance

Welcome to The PHILCO Phorum!

The schematics are posted on Nostalgia Air:

I have a set that is a much better scan that I sent to your e-mail address. Good Luck!

If you run into questions the schematics can't answer be sure to post them here, someone will know the answer.

It's pretty cool that you have your grandmothers radio, many of us don't have a set with a sentimental connection like that. Keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks for the help so far. I'm not an electrical engineer by any means but I'm pretty mechanically inclined so to speak. The connection theat runs from the phonograph to the speaker has what looks to be a capacitory and a connection needs to be replaced or rebuilt from what I can tell. Is this a capacitor at this location and if so, where could I aquire a new one? Also, the light bulbs are mostly dead. I saw some similar ones at the auto parts store, would they work if they were calibrated for the same voltage and wattage?
