I was just given this farm radio console(thanks Lou!) and have a few questions.
What size and type speaker does it take?
What type of batteries are needed?
thanks

38-9 is an AC operated model. Are you sure it isn't a 38-38? Or perhaps 38-39 (which operates on a 6 volt storage battery)?

Ron,
Will have to double check when I get home. I probably wrote the number down wrong.
thanks

Ron,
It was a 38-38 chassis in a 38-9 cabinet. any idea on how to make a battery supply for this?

I'm building them at the present time for someone.
See my post in the electronic restoration section.

Batterymaker,
When I finish the restoration I would be interested in buying one for mine. Please e-mail details on the cost etc. tuberadiophile at aol. com
thanks

Bear in mind, you'll need two batteries, a BC pack and an A battery. What do your A battery leads terminate into, a two-pin plug or large alligator clips?

Batterymaker,
There are just two bare wires for the A battery labelled A+ and A-. I also have a bunch of other battery sets that I would be interested in buying battery packs. Please e-mail me at tuberadiophile at aol dot com.
thanks
Chris
