Model 89 Filter Cap Can Dimensions?
#1

I'm trying to make this Philco model 89 as original as possible. I'd like to know if anyone can tell me the length and diameter of the original filter cap cans that mounted on the chassis via a strap assembly. I've looked around and can't find any original cans but if I can get the dimensions I can try to find two cans that will work. Preferably two matching cans.

If someone can give me these dimensions I sure would appreciate it.

Thanks much,
Pepper

Do you have the Phico part number? If so, I could see if it is the same as my 18 while I have it apart.

I don't have the originals of course but the part number on my paperwork calls them out as #44 & #46. Part numbers 8165 and 8166 respectively. My paperwork is for models 89 & 19 but if the model 18 is similar those will do.

Large 4" tall, Small 3-1/4" tall, both are 1-3/8" across. Remember that both have cardboard insulators between cap and mount. but since they dont mount flush to the top of chassis you could use taller caps and just mount them deeper into the clamp.

Thanks tab! Now I go looking for a couple of cans.
