Another good product to use on bakelite is Novus plastic polish. It comes in a 3 bottle system - #1 for light cleaning and polishing, #2 for more intense polishing, and #3 for light scratch removal and deep cleaning. It's great stuff.

Sometimes a good way to clean an polish bakelite is good old fashioned dish washing soap.

Step 1: REMOVE THE CHASSIS! Icon_wink Icon_biggrin

Step 2: Clean it out in a sink full of warm water and soap, then rinse.

Another option for quick cleaning can be done with a household cleaner such as Formula 409.

To put the finishing touch on it, try using any good quality car wax (Turtle Wax or something similar). You'll be amazed with the shine!
