Is this a model 71H?
#1

Is this a model 71H, or possibly a Canadian 371H? I found this website through craigslist but have no idea what they want for the radios, other then a 1920s 3 dialer, all it says is offers. They do have a greatly overpriced Motorolla TV from the late 40s, the kind with the plastic front and 7 inch electrostatic CRT, for $400. They also have what looks like a model 76 or 96 lowboy but I have no way of knowing for sure.

Arran

That could be a later 71H with shadow meter, or it could be a 91H.

Here's a photo of the set in question, from the Cool Junk website:

And a photo of the 1930 Philco lowboy from the same site:

No comment on what appears to be a hanging skeleton. Icon_eek

The hanging skeleton is part of these guy's collection of medical junk, probably one of the few things that anyone would want along those lines. He also has a number of quack medical machines at very unrealistic prices. I think he was watching that show "Oddities" on the Discovery channel and thought he would take a crack at it, except that he is in a Podunk area called Errington that isn't even really a town, not a big city like New York. In fact it's not even really on the way to anywhere else, you have to go out of your way to get to it. Even in the case of the shop featured on that show they know they have a limited market and that only the really rare and unusual stuff is what people want, not stuff like incubators from the '70s.

It would be nice if it was a 91H, but the photos in the gallery made me think that it may be a later model 71H given the marquetry above the control panel. This is assuming that it isn't a Canadian built Philco then all bets are off, it could be any chassis with that control arrangement, make me want to take a look at it and the other junk he has for sale.

Go for it, Arran! Let us know what you find out.

I believe there is a later variation of that cabinet that has the inlay just like the one this seller has, changed from the pressed wood trim used on the early version.
