Non Philco TV set showing a football game

It's not a radio, but there's no "Non Philco TV" forum, but I figure it being "non-radio" warrants this in this forum. Icon_biggrin

It's my 1950 B&W Admiral bakelite console TV set tuned to the game.

That's neat! I have the earlier version of that set, but it's currently not working. Seems these bakelite sets bring or used to bring in the dollars from collectors.

The Admiral Bakelite TVs used to bring more dollars then they do now I think, at least the round tube models did, rectangular models less so. Philco also had some large Bakelite table models but not floor models, that was a unique offering from Admiral.

My little Admiral was starting to go the way of that one when I found it. I thought I had pictures of it, but I can't find them. It's too burried to get a picture of right now. Icon_sad

I was about to say that I should try to get one of those nice wooden TV some day, but forgot a minor point: I never see any of them...
Radios are already somewhat hard to find around here, but old TVs are even more.


... that might be why there was a baby boom around here in the 50s!
