Why not use....
#1

Hello Everyone,

Dumb Q....
Since the 46-1201 looks exactly like the 48-1201, why can't any one recapping the 46-1201 use the the schematic for the 48-1201 --it seems to me, to be more detailed. I know i will get flamed for this one....

Just because the radios look the same doesn't mean that they are same electrically.
A quick look at the schematics showed that at the very least, they use different rectifer tubes.
Also, is there a code number after the model number on your radio?

If you are not satisfied with the schematic online, I would recommend that you buy the service info from Chuck:
http://www.philcorepairbench.com/schematics.htm
They are very good quality scans.

You really should use the service info for the 46-1201 to service the 46-1201, and the 48-1201 schematic to service the 48-1201. As has been previously mentioned, there are differences between the two.

The PDF package I have available here at the Phorum (at http://www.philcoradio.com/phorum/showth...hp?tid=215) gives not only the basic service info for Model 46-1201, but also all of the factory updates and changes. This should get you through any 46-1201 service problem. And the price is right (FREE).

Hi Ron,
Looks like a lot of great info, but the links would not work for me this morning. Icon_sad

I just tried them in Firefox and IE, everything is working on this end. Don't know why they aren't working for you. Try right-clicking each link and choosing "Save Link As" (Firefox) or "Save Target As..." (IE).
