Station tabs for 39-116 and Mystery Remote
#1

Hi-
I'm looking for some station call tabs to complete the restoration of my 39-116 console and Mystery Remote.

Any assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lew

Hi Lew

Barring the discovery of a new-old-stock set of original 1939 call tabs, you can make your own on your PC. Simply measure the size needed and go from there.

The tabs used on the radio's dial escutcheon are larger than call tabs used on other Philco models (those that do not have Mystery Control). So, unless you were lucky enough to run across an original set on eBay, you will probably have to make your own.

Tan lettering against a dark background will work well for the tabs which go on the radio's dial escutcheon. For the actual Mystery Control escutcheon, use dark brown letters against a tan background.

Thanks for the advice, Ron.
I was hoping to stumble across a set of NOS tabs (or just 8 individual tabs), but barring that, I will have to make my own as per your suggestions.

Much obliged,
Lew
