I am finally getting some stations on AM broadcast band.
I rewound the oscillator coil with 30ga red magnet wire from Radio Shack.
Now I am getting -4VDC on pin 5 (GT/G3HP) of the 6J8-G converter tube.
Unfortunately, I am not getting any negative bias on the the grid cap (G1HP). I get 0VDC on the grid cap.
I went over the schematic and everything else looks OK. And I am getting some stations with the loop antenna hooked up. But the volume is low.
Does this sound like a case of a bad tube? My tube tester can't test a 6J8-G, so I can only guess that this is the problem.
