Restoration of UK Philco 282 Empire Five
#16

Now, with the proper dial lamp holder in place, I moved the other lamp bracket so it can be used as a lamp for the shadowmeter in the 282.

Now, once again listening to AM 740 from Toronto. Only now, light is coming through the shadowmeter for the first time in who knows when.
I still need to replace the rubber mounts on the 282's tuning condenser. And once the weather warms up again, I will probably give the chassis a good cleaning.
Now the the shadowmeter is illuminated, I have discovered that the vane does not move. Nice. It has continuity but isn't working.
Oh, well. I am going to set this one aside for awhile and move on to another project.

Nice write up Ron, I am going to have to replace the gromments on the 582 and it will need a speaker, its next on the restore list.
