Anyone know ifthe speaker and output transformer from a 37-630 would be the same as the speaker in a model 620?
I believe the 620 was made in 1936.
The 630 is a 6 tube set, while the 620 is a 5 tube set.
Thanks

When did they change??? Both have 6 tubes. The 610 has 5 tubes. Speaker should work on all 3 if the field coil is the same

Your right Terry,
My mistake.
What I should have asked, is if the output transformer is the same on both.
Thanks

Generally speaking if the output tube is the same your good in terms of the output transformer. It must have the same type of output stage single ended or push-pull. If the set has more tubes it's going to pass more current though the field coil. So as long as it's only a tube or two you should fine.

The 610, 620 and 630 used a single ended 42 output tube.
The 37-610, 37-620 and 37-630 used a single ended 6F6G output tube.
42 and 6F6G have the same characteristics; the 6F6 is the octal version of the 42.
The output transformer may have a different part number, but the impedance should be the same.
