Intermediate Frequency Adjustment ?
#1

I'am preparing to adjust the I.F.s on my philco model 144. Reading the procedure it doesn't say if you should do them in the order of 1st,2nd&3rd. Is that the order I should use?
Thanks

Most of the alignment literature I've seen suggests that you do them in reverse order. I'm assuming this is so that the detector can be more precisely aligned. In practice, I've not found there to be any real difference, as long as you keep turning down the generator output as you get a peak, so you're not overdriving and causing the AGC to act.

Thank you Brenda. I have seen some alignment videos on line. I believe for the philco 630b and it mentioned an order but my instructions only said adjust each I.F. in turn. Wasn't sure what" in turn " exactly meant. I will try the reverse order.
