1936 624 6 Volt battery set
#31

all caps, sans a few dominoes, have been replaced. I replaced both the PS caps with a couple of CDE snubber caps, same values. I am going to pick up a 6 volt battery tomorrow to eliminate my PS as a cause.

well that weirdness was the power supply. No more pulsing dial lamp and the sound has also improved. So much for getting designs off the internet. I still have some vibrator noise coming out of the speaker. But I think I’ll stick with the battery solution. It’s a cheaper alternative anyhow. (21 bucks each (12ah) plus 17 for the charger).

So now the fun part will be checking my voltages again. I still have nothing on the plate of the 32. The radio sounds decent though. I may just keep that bypass solution on the interstage transformer if it still sounds nice once I finish troubleshooting and hopefully can clear up some of the vibrator hash. (or could the vibrator hash be from bypassing the coils on the transformer?)

by the way, have I mentioned how much I appreciate all the help you all have given me?

Thanks again.. now I can start thinking about tackling the cabinet. it's worse off than the radio was.

Well, I finally put it all back together! It still needs a new Vibrator, but I'll find the right one, eventually..

figured I'd post a few pics.

Didn't notice whether you solved this or not, but no B+ at the plate of the 32 would have to be either resistor 64 (250K) or capacitor 64A (100pF).

actually it was operator error.. I had the probe on the wrong pin Icon_redface

Thank you, Terry. It was a very drawn out project, especially the cabinet!
