FM Reception 46-480
#1

Hope all had a nice holiday weekend. I get lousy FM reception in my area. Just a couple of stations and they are somewhat fuzzy. My 46-480 picks up several stations with the antenna I made but I have to turn the volume all the way up to barely hear anything. AM stations are just fine. Can anyone shed some light on the FM? I have a modern radio that picks up the same stations but I get plenty of volume from that radio. Thanks!

Hi

Have all paper and electrolytic capacitors been replaced? Tubes checked? Set aligned? And...is the set's FM antenna connected properly?

Thanks! Yes to all of the above. Everything went smoothly. I did have a problem with the Loctal sockets after I pop-riveted them back into the chassis. The heads of the rivets wouldn't allow the tubes to seat properly. I filed the heads and cleaned all the sockets per instructions found in another post and the tubes seat well now.
