4/5/14 I know some of you have done this - I have a 53-1750 Radio Phonograph console. If I wanted to play my Ipod through the radio, how would I do this? Connect wires into the antenna leads? Hook into phonograph wiring?? I don't want to fry anything !!
Thanks.

No;
If you were going to do it at all you would have to connect it through the audio circuitry, that is if you don't have a short range transmitter like a SSTRAN. If the set does not have a power transformer I would not do it at all, it's a safety hazard.

Use the phono input wire. The connector should be similar to an RCA jack. Get the proper connectors and splitters and it works very well. I use this wiring on my 47-1230.

Use the phono lines.
It would be a god idea, both to match impedance and protect your ipod, to install an 8:1k ohm audio transformer. Use a switch to disconnect the phono when using the ipod.
