90 cathedral mershon questions
#1

Did the 90 come with the copper mershons?
Mine doesn't and most photos online dont but i have the chance to buy them.

They came with mershons or sprague type, I've seen/had them with either or.
#3

I have seen them with "newer mershon-likes", the nickel-plated copper types.
#4

I think the nickel plated ones are sprague.
#5

Thanks,
I bought them and the side shield off a 91. Will they fit?
My 70 also has them but one is copper and one is not. 1 was replaced right?
so putting in the copper will make it original to the 70 also?

Here is my 90 and 70 chassis:

The left one is clearly a replacement. Many of them have it like this.

If you ever restuff the sprague caps in the 90, rather than cutting it into two pieces, pop out the top plug with the two holes in it, reem the hole out underneath, then you can gut it with thin needle nose pliers, drill a small hole under the nut at bottom and another to solder under the cap for your new electrolitic. Just like the thread for the mershon restuffing shows.
