Help with proper verbage of a part...
#1

The plastic piece that the electric cord passes through and protects it from the chassis...and does Radio Shack have those?
#2

Could be a grommet or a clamp if it actually holds the wire too. Radio shack used to carry them but not sure if they do anymore. Worth a try I spose.
#3

Except Radio Shack stores are no longer brick and mortar, or almost so. Online possibly, but these things are not hobbyist exclsively and could be sold in hardware stores, or in Lowes/Home Depot.
#4

Also sold by Mouser.
#5

As far as a term for it I think it may be called a 'line restraint'. I don't know if any suppliers call it that Icon_smile Also "Heyco Bushing" relating to a major manufacturer of them.
#6

Thanks all! That helped!
#7

"Strain relief" is another term that's used.

#8

Grommet
#9

Lowes has them in drawers in the hardware section, they sell grommets too.
#10

Radio Daze sells those strain relief pieces also.

Well the old timers often called an unidentified part a framis. Plural is framae. Indeed the crimp imposed by these little things caused many a cord to fail, but not that many fires. So they used 'em and still do with very few lawsuits.
