Bakelite Capacitor and Resistor Blocks
#1

I'm trying to restore what I think to be pre-August 15, 1934 Run 7 Model 60. My problem is finding information on several bakelite blocks that aren't listed anywhere on the web. They are 3793-W, 3903-AP and 8035-B. Does anybody know what is in each of these and their values?

If you go here:

http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel...013793.pdf
(the link Sam gave you)
And look at the sch, part 49 ( 3793-W, which is your part) you will see it is 0.015uF capacitor.
For substitute use any adequate line voltage (250AC) Y-rated safety cap.

Same sch has other parts like 3903-AP which is #30, 0.01uF. The voltage at the position 30 can be 100V, quite enough.
Etc.

Welcome: The info I have says the 3793-W should have 1--.015 cap. the 3903AP should have 1--.01 cap. the 8035-B should have 2--.00011 caps.

3793-W has a .015uf cap, 3903-AP has a .01uf cap, and 8035-B has 2 - 110pf caps in it, both connected to ground and each to the other 2 lugs according to the Philco Condensers book. .

Welcome to the Phorum!!  Here's a link you will want to bookmark.  It has a lot of info on the way those block caps are wired and what the values are.

The second page lists the block caps that were discontinued and what the new cap number is.  It also shows the wiring configuration.  I suggest restuffing them.  Morzh from this phorum has a great thread showing how to do this here
