Model 610 Alignment
#1

I'm attempting to align my 610 on the 6-18Mc shortwave band and am having a problem with the tracking accross the band. Does the oscillator operate above or below the I.F. on the shortwave band? Secondly, the shortwave oscillator adjustment, item 13, does not seem to have any effect as I turn the nut. This cap is across a 2250 pf fixed cap. Any suggestions or comments appreciated.

Dial tracking error is one of two things: rotor positions vs. the dial, or less likely, plates that are almost shorting in the tuning capacitor. In most radios the lowest extreme vertical mark on the dial (below 550KC) corresponds to full mesh of the tuning cap. The IF will not have any significant effect on the dial accuracy in 99% of cases.
