620 cabinet logo misplaced?
#1

hello:
we have a curious 620 cabinet, as the philco logo is set between the knobs and dial. not at the top like all of the pictures iv'e seen online.
the sticker inside of it says run #1
is this possibly a rarity? or could it be a misplaced decal from a restoration?
anyway to tell, or any info would be appreciated.
thank you.

Neat! Icon_thumbup

That's an original decal. You can tell the difference between it and the Radio Daze PH8 by the fact that the 1932-36 originals had more of a copper color rather than gold.

I seem to recall that Philco's photos of this model show the decal as on your cabinet. I suspect that the very first 620B cabinets to be built had the decal placed there, before Philco decided to move the decal to the top edge as seen on most 620B cabinets.

As we all know, Philco was famous (infamous?) for their running changes in models. So it should not be surprising that those changes would extend to decal placement on cabinets as well.
