Just got a model 111 working. This is a nice set, picks up a lot of stuff with just a short wire, too bad it is not mine.

Have a 111, restored last fall, yes, nice set and is the only superhet out off all those other radios in this and similar cabinets of the time (with falling leaves cloth and grill arches).

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Simplex, indeed, nice sounding radios. Here is a pic of mine with the original grill cloth. I hope I can find room for it in our new place but doubt it. One of my favorite Philcos.

The cabinet on the one I am working on has been in a barn so it has issues, but that is something that the owner said he is going to take care of. If I find one of these for myself I am going to snatch it up.
