Ok so I saw this just listed and thought it was really nice so I hit BIN.
I went back and scrutinized the pics and realized the grill was horribly repaired in many places. Also the dial was painted by what looks like a 5 year old. The desc. said noting and there was no close up of the grill.
I know I should have looked better before buying it but I went by the description.
Now I dont feel it is worth almost $200.00
I emailed him for grill pics but do you guys thing this radio is worth $200.00 as it is?
I know, if I like it then it is worth it. I was probably gonna resell it after restoring it so Is it worth the money.

I don't know $200 is a lot for this one. Need a lot of veneer work and like you said the dial looks like a 5yr old painted it.If you really need something to do I got a model 20 that needs a lot of work.

I asked if he would give a partial refund otherwise I will just ask to cancel the auction.
Another model 20, ugh, lol
I can do it but I have 3 cabinets waiting from other people and I have to get a few done for my collection.
Bring it in may and I'll give you some chassis, more chassis depending on how bad it is.

I'm in no rush. I was kinda think that I might be able to show you some troubleshooting techneics up at your place during a visit. The 20 is really a mess, I do have a 21 (identical to a 70 but has different fnt panel) Fnt panel is new and the rest is in pretty good shape. Veneer is all there best I remember.

See what the guy is willing to do..hes a good seller Ive done business with going back a few years.
The cabinet looks pretty good really..some grill work issues but nothing major.
I have no idea about the dial but yeah the white center design looks hand done. I cand find an original. It may have flaked off at center there.
But if it were me for a keeper? I might stick a reproduction Knight dial in there if it can be made to work..it looks like it might.
one of these..different link

In this case, "hot link" has a double meaning. Or, it did until you edited your post #6.
For those of you late to this party, here's the "hot" link we are talking about.
