Model 57 compensator values?
#16

Have you aligned the RF and IF stages with a signal generator? These sets to work properly need a good alignment especially after moving the wiring around while fooling with the trimmer caps. I trust that you have replaced the paper caps and checked the resistors to be intolerance.

I replaced all the caps and resistors. The alignment process is impossible with this confounded oscillating problem...I hate to give up on it but I need to move on right now. I will most likely go back to it in a couple months.

What u can do is turn down regeneration till it's not oscillating then do the alignment. That may help.

You don't understand. I can back that one off all the way but if I try to get anything coming through the speaker using the other trimmers and tuner it still spills over.

I checked all the trimmers according to Ron's ID of the letters. They are all in the right places. Any other ideas???
