Philco 42-1012 Antenna ??

ALL, Looking at the schematic part 1A is where the FM antenna is hooked to on Pins 1 & 2. Lookls like pins 3 and 4 are not hooked to anything.. Should they be? or maybe shorted? Why would there be wires to the part if they weren't to be used? Please see schematic.. Part 5 is the Brdcat Aerial Transformer

Seems like the built in dipole for FM is ion 1 and 2. For external dipole connect to these pins. Pins 3 and 4 are for external AM/SW long wire (3) and ground (4). At least that what the notes say.
