39-17 Grille cloth supplier?
#1

Who has the most correct grille cloth for my 39-17 cabinet that Fred just finished for me?  What item number or name is it?  Thanks, Steve

Looking at the Gallery photo of a 39-17 I was all set to suggest Radio Daze as a supplier but I no longer see the cloth on their web site that I was looking for ( I used it in a 39-25 I did and I'm 99% sure I got it from Radio Daze). Short of that I'd look at ebay and the folks that Ron lists on the Resources Page ....and there's always a trip to Joanne Fabrics where I've found a few items.

The original cloth was known as Philco "Ribbed" cloth. Bob ( klondike98 ) is correct, Radio Daze no longer carries this cloth.

I did find someone on the auction site who is selling cloth that is similar, and he says he is running out...

Bret Menassa (think I spelled it right) is a good egg, he may have bought up the suplly when the Grille Cloth folks closed up. I am sure he gives a square deal. btw --Super Job by Fred!

Paul,
Thanks for the heads-up. He's the one selling the cloth on eBay. Same number Ron mentioned. I emailed him and it's him. I think I'll get a couple extra, in case he stops selling it.....

Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, accept this justice as a gift

Same for any Philco using the "Ribbed" cloth which includes several 1936-1939 models.

Looks like RadioDaze has the ribbed cloth back in their lineup....
