Philco 84 code 121 no sound
#30

(11-11-2016, 03:52 PM)Mike L Wrote:  I checked the two ground points referenced in your previous reply and both are good. While waiting for my coil wire to arrive, I pulled the oscillator coil to check those windings and it too has corrosion going on in the small section. The small winding reads 2.5 ohms and the larger 3.3 ohms. Not much more for so much more wire. What should the reading be as there is no reference? Anyway should the smaller coil (oscillator?) be rewound, or is it best to let sleeping dogs lie?

The  resistance reading seem about right but on the other hand you've already got it out it's not a big deal to rewind the feedback winding.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!
