Yes , if you buy a vintage signal generator there is the possibility that you will need to do some work on it unless you can be assured by the seller its really working.  They are not too complex but recap and recarb may be needed.  I had one where someone had tinkered with the circuit so I had to undo that.  If you want a new one you will pay quite a bit but antique electronic supply has one:  https://www.tubesandmore.com/products/ge...-rf-signal
