I use a BK Precision frequency counter to measure the generator's frequency after it stabilizes a bit when doing the alignment.

Of course a built-in meter is the most convenient.
People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
