Hi willydcamaro! I actually decided to set this radio aside for a while and work on some other simpler radios to gain some experience. As you know the 47-1230 is not exactly a simple radio, and I had just started in the radio restoration hobby at the time so I decided I needed to do some learning before I really tried to troubleshoot the Philco. In the meantime I have completed 6 radios, including one small transistor radio that my grandfather gave me when I was 7 or 8 (early 60s).
Along the way I've learned a great deal and have been thinking about diving back into the 47-1230. But it'll probably have to wait a bit longer...right now I'm focusing on restoring the Seeburg AQ-160 jukebox I picked up in late December
Good luck on your restoration!
Rich
