Did not detect any changes in the work of the radio lamp when taking off the screen. I doubt that this is done to avoid shocks. I think that here the secret may be that under the black metallic screen the output lamp may be better cooled down. The same decision was seen on the same German tuner Telefunken 56 years ago.
