I would say Octals outlived Loctals.
At least the beam tetrodes made it all the way to our days with the production in the USSR having ceased only in 90s. And then resuming some time in 21st century. Loctals remain dead.
People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
