Realistic Patrolman

I recently picked one of these little guys up for about the price of the 9V  battery that it takes. I am almost positive I had one of these as a kid. Anyway, I cleaned it up and it needed no work to get playing. 

Why am I posting this comment, because in the evenings it is an excellent DX'er. Baltimore, all the NYC stations, 990 Rochester NY, Canadian Maritimes, so it is a nice set, small package. Why is it that even these old tiny sets beat the pants off a modern table radio? I know, I know, people expected more and companies gave more thought to production. 

But if you see one of these for 5$ at a swap, garage sale, etc......buy one. Have fun.  Icon_biggrin
