I would be careful what it is gets exposed to. Even if the stuff for leaky transmissions works, you simply do not know how it reacts with the lubricant you are delivering inside the pot AND what it will do to the pot itself once it gets inside of it (it will).
Also, you might just soak it in the lubricant itself, it might just work. if using Deoxit Fader lube, soak the piston in it.
