35-1285 Record Changer Repair

On my 48-1256, there is a machined screw with a 5/16" hex head holding the platter on. It's screwed horizontally into the brass bushing that the platter spindle is in, ( underneath the changer base).  Look and see if yours has a similar screw.  This model has the cute, small  6" platter, and if yours has the same, it probably also has the same screw.
