60b V2 veneer type?

Got a 60b that the veneer on the sides and top is toast.  Gonna remove all of it.  What would be close to the original?  I know the finish was 2 tone walnut, but is the veneer walnut as well?

I have a finely tuned horse puckey detector.  Don't blame me if it goes off. Oldtimer
