Philco model 84 1/35

Since Kirk has been working the a bunch of cabinets I was inspired to get busy on the 84B. It turned out ok considering what I started with understanding that it would never look like new again. To do that it would have taken the removal of all of the veneer as much of it the edges are curling.
This time I tried Mohawk Flat clear coat and was pleasantly surprised that it does have a little sheen which is what I was looking for. With veneer issues the flat tends to hide the waviness.
It's a good player but does need a long ant for any dx reception. Pleasant sounding. Was a nice improvement in the later models to add the tuning reduction drive but that doesn't happen for a yr or two later.
